Local Homes
The Near North Side is high-rise Chicago: 89% of its roughly 77,500 homes are in buildings with 20 or more units, and the typical home was built around 1989 (Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Community Data Snapshots 2026).
In a high-rise, the heating and cooling plant usually belongs to the building and is looked after by its management, so what we repair here is mostly inside the unit: built-in refrigerators, wine storage, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers and dryers. In the area's row houses and townhomes we also service the furnace, central air or heat pump. Before a visit to a managed building, tell us about any rules for contractors — a front-desk sign-in, a service elevator booking, set working hours.
