Furnace Repair in Evanston, IL

Furnace out in Evanston? Start here

If your furnace has failed in Evanston, SAVA HVAC & Appliance Repair can diagnose it, tell you the price, and repair it, often in one visit when the part is on the truck. SAVA is family-owned, has operated since 2017, and sends EPA Section 608 Certified technicians from 6502 W Devon Ave in Chicago, about six miles southwest of Evanston. We serve ZIP codes 60201, 60202 and 60203. The $79 starting service call includes a 30-minute diagnostic and is credited toward the repair you approve. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM, with same-day appointments when available; the emergency line, (773) 558-3332, is answered 24/7. We repair Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Rheem, Goodman, Bryant, York, American Standard and Heil furnaces, and we give a straight answer when an older unit is better replaced than repaired.

Repair or replace: how we help you decide

We look at three things: the age of the furnace, what has failed, and its repair history. A unit over 15–20 years old that needs a heat exchanger or a control board is often better replaced. A younger furnace with a failed igniter or sensor is a repair. You get our recommendation and the price of each option, and the decision stays with you. Replacement is quoted on-site — see furnace installation.

Signs an Evanston furnace needs service

Book a visit when the furnace does any of these:

• It will not start, or starts and locks out.
• It runs but blows cold.
• It cycles too often.
• It makes a noise it did not make last winter.
• It smells hot or burnt.
• It leaks water.

The repair visit, step by step

• Inspect. Heat exchanger, burners, igniter, blower and gas line are checked for hazards.
• Explain. We name the failed part and the price, and wait for your approval.
• Fix. The component is replaced; many repairs finish in a single visit when the part is on the truck.
• Verify. A full heating cycle and a carbon monoxide check close the job.
