Furnace problems we repair in Niles

These are the heating calls we take from Niles homes. Each link explains what the symptom usually points to and how we diagnose it:

• Furnace will not turn on — no response from the thermostat, or the unit starts and shuts down.
• Furnace blowing cold air — the blower runs but the burners have stopped firing.
• Short cycling — the furnace runs for a few minutes, stops and restarts.
• Banging, rattling or squealing at start-up or while running.
• Burning or electrical smell from the furnace or the vents.
• Water around the furnace on a high-efficiency system.
• Igniter and flame sensor faults, draft inducer and blower motor failures, and control board faults.

What a furnace service call in Niles includes

1. Safety check first. The technician inspects the heat exchanger, burners, igniter, blower and gas connections and deals with any hazard before anything else.
2. Diagnosis and price. You are shown what failed and told the full repair price. Nothing is repaired until you approve it.
3. Repair. The failed component is replaced. Many furnace repairs are completed in one visit when the part is on the truck.
4. Test. We run a full heating cycle and check for carbon monoxide before the job is called complete.

Repair or replace an older furnace?

If a furnace is over 15–20 years old and needs a major repair such as a heat exchanger or control board, replacement often makes more financial sense. We give you an honest recommendation based on the age and condition of the unit. Furnace installation is quoted on-site after we see the home.
